Class 1 Learning Pathway (Full Program)

Completion of the full program of Entry, Core and Competency sections of the Class 1 Learning Pathway provides an unrestricted Class 1 Driver’s Licence.

Total Hours: 117-125

Online Entry Program: $250

Air Brakes Program: $275

Core Program: $6800

Class 1 Road Test Permit: $217

Competency Program: $2500

Full Learning Pathway (total cost of above items less the Test Permit): $9300

Use of equipment for one road test is included at no charge in this program. Driver’s medical, reclassification of licence, and knowledge test fees may vary and are not included in these totals.

This course is a Government of Alberta mandated program with three sections:

• Entry Program:

  • 40 hours of self-directed online learning.

  • Must be completed before starting Core Learning.

  • Link to Alberta website for creating an Alberta.ca account for personal use.

  • Link to Alberta website for enrolment in Entry Program.

• Core Learning:

  • 60 hours of driving and in-yard truck lessons.

  • Road Test for provincial-restricted licence.

• Competency Building:

  • 17-25 hours of post licence tailored instruction.

  • Road Test must be passed before taking these hours.

These prices do not include a Driver’s Medical or the Government Road Test Permit.
