Licensed Driving Instructor (Class 1 MELT & 3)
Position Summary
CCA Truck Driver Training is hiring individuals who are Alberta MELT-certified Licensed Driving Instructors. We are looking to fill both full-time and part-time positions, and these positions require some work on evenings and weekends.

Qualifications
Current Class 1 MELT and 3 Alberta Instructor’s License
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Very patient, strong communications skills and a positive attitude.
Honest, professional and punctual.
Desire and willingness to share experience with new drivers.
Willingness to teach both classroom and practical courses as required.
Alberta Air Brakes “Q” Instructor is an asset
PDIC Instructor certification is an asset
Verifiable LCV experience and/or current AMTA LCV instructor certification is an asset
References for employment and experience are required
Duties and Responsibilities
Providing in-cab Class 1 MELT and 3 Instruction on manual and automatic transmissions.
Conducting Company Evaluations, Brush-up lessons and LCV certifications.
Teaching classroom courses such as Alberta Air Brakes, PDIC and LCV.
Compensation
This position is paid hourly at a rate of $30/hr for the probationary/training period with increases at 3 months of service and based on qualifications and experience as an instructor.
Additional training for any advanced instructor certifications (LCV, PDIC and Air Brakes) will be paid time.
Hours of Work
Full-Time: 40hrs/week, 8-10 hours per day. This can include:
o Evenings until 9pm in Summer Months (April to October).
o Evenings until 7pm In Winter Months (November to March).
o Weekend Day Shifts (7am-5pm).
Part-Time:
o Weekends and evenings as needed.
o Weekday with a minimum 4-hour “call-in” per day.
Working Conditions
Outdoor environment includes exposure to noise, dust, fumes and standing for long periods of time.
In-classroom includes eye, neck and back strain, and standing for long periods of time.
In-truck environment includes eye, neck and back strain, and sitting for long periods of time.
Exposure to inclement weather year-round.
Lifting objects up to 40lbs, including but not limited to tire chains, climbing in and out of tractor-trailer units, handling minor hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, etc.
